All
Australian Schools are invited to join Save The Bilby Fund
in
our fundraising efforts to help save the Bilby and
other endangered
Australian species, plus take part in
"Face The Challenge"
Threatened Animals Crossword Competition
Your school should receive a letter during
July 2009 inviting you to support us and encourage you to learn
more
about Australia's many endangered species so that you can
HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
The letter includes an invitation to
help, order forms for purchasing Save The Bilby Fund merchandise,
information on how to get to this website, a poster for the notice
board and some
Face The Challenge flyers to be distributed
to the classrooms for the students to see.
Children often
ask us at Save The Bilby Fund what they can do to help...
Australia's school children are the ones who can help the most!
So, the Friday before National Bilby Day, you have your own special day to celebrate:

Here are just a few ways
YOU CAN HELP!
|
1. Enter "Face
The Challenge" Threatened Animals Crossword Competition
Please encourage your friends and school to enter our competition
so that everyone can learn about the unique animals we share
this great country with. ENTRY IS FREE and you could win some
fantastic prizes!
Teachers, please register
your school to let us know how many entrants you expect.
The competition
is a challenge, so the crossword is not easy.
However, if necessary
we invite you to assist your students in researching the answers
and filling out the crossword entry form. By helping each other
find the correct answers, more people will learn about the amazing Australian animals we all have a responsibility to care for. Parents
and siblings can help younger students too - that's why the competition
is open to all ages from 5 years to 18 years.
Your school could be the winner of the
Major Prize:
a visit from a live Bilby and Mr Frank Manthey
Co-Founder of Save The Bilby Fund
A list of schools that register
is published on this website in our Hall of Fame.
Individual entries are also invited too. So kids please join
the competition, get an entry
form
2. Buy Save
The Bilby Fund Merchandise
Please encourage your school, club
or community group to purchase some of our Save The Bilby Fund merchandise
and sell it
to your students or members. Imagine the difference we could
make if everyone of Australia's 20 million people
spent just
two dollars each to buy a National Bilby Day Clutch Pin!
Schools -
if you order some merchandise to sell at your school
you can
return any unpurchased items after your event. So you only pay
for what you sell.
3. Hold a
National Bilby Day Fundraising Party
Please encourage your school, club, work place or community group
to have a Fundraiser to raise some much
needed funds. By simply collecting a gold coin donation for Save
The Bilby Fund your students, work mates or members can enjoy a special celebration and know that they are making difference.
By selling Bilby merchandise Your School can make a BIG IMPACT on the success of our work!

Use your imagination! |
Save The Bilby Fund has become one of Australia's success stories
thanks to the support of many everyday school children, Mums
and Dads and pensioners. Our project has captured the imagination
and help of many Australians who like us, would like to protect
our unique species for future generations to see and enjoy. Donations
are used to maintain our Bilby Fence and to support other essential
work on the bilby and other threatened species.

The Bilby Fence at Currawinya National
Park, Queensland, was built to protect the bilbies from feral
animals and dangerous predators to enable them to live and breed
in safety. The electrified fence encloses a 25 square kilometre
area and the first bilbies were released into the area in December
2005. This fence was built from fundraising money and the help
of many thousands of donations and some very special volunteers
and sponsors. Your continued help and contributions will assist
us in our efforts to maintain this fence, and expand our operations
to help save the bilby and other endangered Australian animals.
Thank
You!
