EnviroPrint Sponsors Face The Challenge!

"Australia is lucky to have some of the most beautiful and unique of the world's creatures.
All living things - plants and animals (including people), are part of a complex, delicately balanced network called the biosphere. The removal of a single species can set off a chain reaction affecting many others. The full significance of extinction on the world is difficult to predict, but it affects us all. Extinction is no longer a 'natural' process, most often it is a direct result of human activity. Every creature has a right to exist. Our challenge is to make sure they do."

EnviroPrint Australia in support of Save The Bilby Fund invite Australia's children to enter "Face The Challenge" Crossword Competition. Entry is FREE and you could WIN some great prizes including a Visit from a Live Bilby to Your School - wherever you are in Australia!
Register your school or organisation and download the crossword entry form online.

The competition provides a wonderful research opportunity for students and will help to educate about our endangered Australian wildlife and the threats to survival they face. Young students are invited to colour in the images around the crossword and enter their work too! Entry is open to children aged 5 to 18 years. Competition commences July and closes 5th September 2011.

Easter Bilby visits Kids with cancer are Bear Cottage

Sydney children's hospice Bear Cottage treated by a special visit from the Easter Bilby!

Australia has some incredibly amazing people who work tirelessly to benefit others. Although facing over-whelming challenges, their passion is inspirational, uplifting and worthy of our acknowledgment and support.

Save The Bilby Fund; Kids With Cancer Foundation (Australia), and Bear Cottage (an initiative of the Children's Hospital at Westmead), with the support of Featherdale Wildlife Park, Planet Press and EnviroPrint Australia teamed up to provide a wonderful life experience for some children and families who are facing the most difficult challenge of all - to care for a child who has a life-limiting illness.

"Getting in to Bear Cottage was a good experience for me, and these sort of visits always help me to put things in proper perspective, our children are the most precious thing," says Peter Bodman of Kids With Cancer Foundation Austraia." It was great to have Frank's Bilby and the Swamp Wallaby from Featherdale there, so thanks to all.

I sat down afterwards with the Nurse Manager and discussed how we as Kids with Cancer Foundation could maybe help Bear Cottage and she told me their most pressing need was for a full time social worker to help the families and kids who spend time there. I couldn't see them go without, so I said we would provide the funding to employ a social worker there for a minimum 3 years. This will make the 4th continuous social work position (since 2003) that we do and will take our total donations to hospitals and families to over $13 million before the end of 2011." EnviroPrint Australia congratulate this generous offer and encourage everyone to help these organisations in their fundraising activities.

Cassowary Collector Card

Saving the Cassowary
after Cyclone Yasi

Cyclone Yasi has seriously damaged the rainforests in Mission Beach and the surrounding Cassowary Coast areas of Queensland. The fallen fruit only usually lasts a week or two at the most, so Rainforest Rescue, Bob Irwin and the Save the Cassowary campaign are urging people to give generously so that Rainforest Rescue can provide food for the cassowaries until the rainforest recovers, which could take 18 months or more. Read more NEWS.

In support of Australia's threatened Cassowaries, EnviroPrint Australia has produced collector cards which are suitable for schools, environmental groups and wildlife parks or zoos. Please contact us if you would like to receive or distribute some (pictured).

At age 16, Jessica Watson, was the youngest person to sail around the world non-stop and unassisted. During her adventure she bravely and confidently faced challenges that most people would wish to avoid, and in doing so inspired us all. This Bilby was named in recognition of the amazing achievements of Jessica Watson. "We have great dreams for this little Bilby and hope that her 'true spirit' will be as strong her namesake’s", says Frank Manthey Co-founder of Save The Bilby Fund.

National Threatened Species Day

The 7th September commemorates the last day that the Tasmanian Tiger was alive in 1936.

This year, celebrity ambassadors including Dawn Fraser, Frank the Bilby Man, Dr Chris Brown and Ranger Stacey joined with some of Australia's leading zoos, aquariums, and conservation organisations to highlight this important issue faced by many animals.

The city streets of Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Canberra and regional centres around Australia were alive with animals and thousands of interested people. Our EnviroPrint collector cards, activity sheets and flyers of the many organisations we assist were very popular with our Sydney visitors. For more information please contact: Zoo Aquarium Association.

Planet Press EnviroPrint awarded Highly Commended

Bankstown Council recognised the City's high achievers on Wednesday 12 December 2007 at the Bankstown City Industry and Export Awards. In 2007 a new category was introduced - ea2cc (early action to climate change). EnviroPrint entered our projects into this category and were recognised for our efforts with a Highly Commended. It was a priviledge to receive this award, and also rewarding to present a brief overview of our waste minimisation conservation initiative to the 150 attendees at the awards dinner.

"Thank you so very much for all the beautiful leaflets Peter. The quantity you have printed will be perfect for the area we need to cover, so there is no need to print any more at this time.

How kind you are! What a blessing this is, and what a massive help to the campaign to save Cooper's Paddock."

- Cherie

"Thanks for such a sterling effort on the presentation folders, in a very tight time-frame. They were delivered in good time and we distributed copies at the Oatley Lions Village Festival today.

All the Oatley Flora & Fauna Conservation Society (OFF) members who saw it were very impressed with the attractive and professional appearance of the folder. It will be a big help in promoting our Birds in Backyards workshops and associated activities.

- Liz Cameron

"Thank you again - this time for the beautiful 'Kuradji Dreaming' cards which you have again designed and printed for us and donated the materials.

We have begun to advertise and sell them and proceeds from their sale will go towards reconciliation activities for everyone to enjoy together, such as walks and camps, and many cultural activities as well as furthering the treaty process in North Illawarra."

-Dootche

"Thanks so much for the wonderful flyers - they will make a huge difference to our cause. I am so grateful for the opportunity to share with the rest of Australia a thank you for the contributions that have been made to this people project.
